My birthday was a big shocker.
I was expecting to wrap up this Garage Sale(the one that recently got rained out),and wait till last night (Sat.) to go out to eat w/ my sister.Well....she calls and tells me "sorry,can't make it"....so I thought:No biggy,I suppose.I can't/won't go out and get plastered and prolly wind up w/ a hangover and (my luck) a DWI,not to mention,in MY case----it's a big no-no TO DRINK......Another thing that put a damper on things is,I just got more money stolen from me by the ONLY person left alone with my purse....My roomates JUVIE!! But instead of $75,this time---he got me for $120.So I was REAL pissed,and just decided I better stick around the house and sulk,instead of go anywhere tired and mad.So when she called and canceled,I was OK with it....BUT.....I was tricked.Roomie encouraged me to take a quick rest since I had been up since about 3:30 ish a.m......and all of a sudden I was awakened with "Happy Birrrrthday tp Yooooou---Happy Birthday to you"...etc....everyone comes in singing the b-day song....my aunt,2 cousins,a few couples from my neighborhood....they had already started the grill w/ stakes and everyone brought qa dish....it was just so awesome.THEN,Ms.Silva says....."everyone forgot to get a cake,I guess" and my reply was "ohhhh that's okay,if it' s not a SLIMFAST cake,then I DON'T need one!" .....and then a few minutes later,yet another sister shows up ----------------->>AND WITH A CAKE!!!Wild,huh? Turned out to be a nice surprise birthday ,huh?
ohhh darn...I was GONA send a pic of my party...but the few pics are of everyone else...and I'm only on the video cam.But I will send a few of those,I guess....gotta go tan.My appt. is for 10:45 a.m and its 10:40.....cuttin' it REAL close! EeeK!

Oh, and not that you don't already know this, but be careful tanning!! I have had skin cancer 5 times now and it was all from tanning beds, really. I just feel better sending the message, skin cancer leaves some nasty scars, physical and emotional!

And just to add my two cents to what Lynx said...I had skin cancer too. I found a little teeny red dot on my arm...and by the time the doc got done cutting it out, I lost a chuck of flesh the size of a damn quarter!!!
I do the sunscreen thing now and either get my tan from a can or go to a salon and get it sprayed on.

Peanut Queen- It's amazing how much they have to cut out for what appears to be a small dot! The cancer can be all over under your skin! You got lucky with only a quarter size chunk! I've been damn close to having skin grafting because they had to take out so much!! Needless to say I also use the sunscreen or the spray tans! Have you ever had trouble with those spray tans rubbing off on your clothes or sheets?

Awwww darn,Stacy and Lynx.....I wasn't born w/ that pretty natural glowing tanned skin....I have to work at it.Now that Imy tanning is coming along nicely,ya'll are raining on my tanning bed/parade...LOL
My best friends mom had to have cancers removed she says b/c of tanning beds....but I know it's not a small price to pay..still I feel the need to be some other color than paper-white....even if it's martian green!. :-}
I'm so sorry to hear about all the terrible things that the skin cancer done....but I have to take my chances,cuz I am just soooo white that if I don't tan,you can't even take a picture of me without makeup on,or all you will see is a white blotch on the pic.LOL

See,I have a tanning lamp...PLUS I go to a salon.The lamp always...most of the time burns the hell out of me,cuz I can't feel ,the effects for at least 12 hours later when I realize I messed up big time.
