I didn't think I would have to blog this again,but I guess I was wrong.
Sunday,my niece and I went to see the movie "Beverly Hills Chihuahua".As we were going to the movies Jasmine asked me to drive and of course I said"no".After we left the movie I had to tell her "no" again.But about a block from my Mom's,where I was taking her,I decided to let her drive that short distance the rest of the way.Only one turn to make.She put her blinker on and as we were waiting on the truck to pass in the other lane,she gassed on it out of the blue and the truck hit us.My side,the passenger side(front)looks pretty bad.But the truck looks totalled.None of us were hurt thank goodness...but I can't think of many other things I've done in my life that are THAT stupid and THAT dangerous.It's definately high on my list of the most ignorant things I have EVER done.
If I get feedack calling me an "idiot",it won't be deleted b/c I KNOW what a REALLY stupid THING THIS WAS TO DO.I still want to kick myself in my own a***.
Even though,like Mom says.."we've ALL allowed her to drive,even her mother".But none of us should have.Damn-it...me,of ALL people,should have known better.
I am SO pissed at myself.Both of us have full coverage insurance,thank goodness,and I'll prolly be in another car soon....but that doesn't even matter that much....cuz I'm just so mad at myself for being that stupid and irresponsible,that car looking isn't even high on my list right now.
Damn it.

and you can't really blame yourself for that. You weren't behind the wheel...it wasn't YOU that attempted to get in front of the truck. and like your mum said, you're not the only one that's allowed your niece to drive. You thought you were helping her out by letting her drive that short distance. That's a nice thing to do, the kinda thing an aunt DOES do.
How were you to know she'd inherited her aunt's driving gene? lol Don't sweat it sweetie...as Walker's already said, cars can be replaced but you certainly couldn't be. Chin up eh? Thank God noone got hurt this time :)
Hey Tammi: Go easy on yourself. You are human! Walker stole my thunder on this one. Things can be replaced, but not those whom we love. I too am glad you were both alright!
Thanks all 3 of you,but I can't help but want to kick my OWN self in the a***.But yea,all 3 comments are so appreciated and you are so right that it could have been worse...for BOTH vehicles.The front end of the other guys truck was demolished,and he had his wife in the passenger seat AND 3 kid's in the back seat.The kids were like 10,8 and 5 or 6 years old.
Glad to hear that nobody got hurt. But you AREN'T an idiot, just a loving auntie who wanted to give your niece a chance to drive. And it was just a short distance, so who would have guessed something was going to happen?

But,yea..I hear ya.Your right.It COULD have been worse.After all,the truck hit us head-on,so I know we were lucky.When she barely tapped the gas,I yelled really loud "DON'T TURN"!!!! and she said it made her nervous and she accidently hit the gas instead of the break.I know how that feels,cuz everytime Mom rides with me,she'll yell "HIT THE BRAKES"!!! when the 18 wheeler is a mile ahead,and it's like I get a knee-jerk type reaction everytime she does that.
If you're beating yourself up this bad can you imagine how Jasmine feels? Sorry about your luck with the vehicles, though. Ever consider painting a bulleye on your car? Maybe that'll make people steer clear of you.
