Recently I was asked by a neighbor down the street if he could use my battery on my car so he could put it on his fishing boat for a few hours and go fishing here on the lake.Well,reluctantly I said "sure".
The next thing I know,I get a knock on the door early in the a.m.,and the guy that borrowed my battery told me he needed my keys to put a fuse on my car so it would run right.I asked him "what fuse"?I haven't had any problems.Well...luckily I was off work,or I would have been even MORE pissed after watching him and his boss for several hours under the hood of my car,as if something were terribly wrong.So I ask the other guy.What is REALLY going on? Then he tells me the REAL story.Mr.Stupid that borrowed my battery put the freakin' thing on backwards...evidently doing more damage than JUST a fuse blown!! Long story short.My alternator was shot,and he had to go get a $149.00 alternator at O'Reilly's,then after a few more hours of messing around,the fan refused to come on....but eventually that got fixxed too.The very next day,I go to the grocery store and my car starts making a loud freight train type noise and smoking and dieing.After he came and took a look at it,the problem was obvious.The air conditioner was fried,and not cutting itself off....so it had to be cut loose.So he calmly says"Oh well,the weather is cooler now,so you won't be needing it anyways"! What the F**** are you telling me,I hysterically ask? So basically he informs me that he can't afford to fix THAT right now...but that he would in the future.O.M.G.! What a crock.I'd be willing to bet I'll be the one having to get my A.C. fixxed....Full coverage is NOT an option.My rates are through the roof as it is,plus I doubt that any of the mess he made would have been covered,unless there is a "dumb-ass clause" in my policy.
On a lighter note. A good friend of mine (CJ) is almost single and getting rid of the abusive situation she is in,and with her seizures,she won't be in danger of getting hit in the head anymore.I'm here for you if your reading this CJ.I'm just a phone call away.

Tammi, you are just to dang nice. You need to learn the word 'no'. A little thing I do before loaning anything out, these days..ask myself if its something I can live without. Cos chances are you won't have it anymore or it won't be as good as it was before you loaned it out. I'm not stingy & like you I'm too nice sometimes. It almost always bites me in the ass too.
