WHITNEY LIVED, NOT LAURA: ID mix-up after crash
This REALLY touched my heart deeply. How can the hospital(DNA) or something like that, not show that the girls were 2 different people. It's just so sad for the family that thought the daughter they were pushing around in the wheelchair was their own.Instead another family buried their daughter. It's just so sad to me.

It seems amazing but this is not the first time this has occured up here in Michigan. Back a few years something simular happened. I think what happened then was the grieving family mistakenly identified the body. You have to admit that in a crash situation, if you do not have definate features like tatoos or scares, it could be hard to tell.
I feel for both families. First the one that discovered their daughter is dead. What a terrible all at once shock. And then for the other family to go through all that with the funeral and burring the daughter only to later find out their daughter lives. I do not know the details of this case but this is so sad.
Thanks for stopping by barman.I'm with you on that.Being the girls were so young and looked so incredibly alike,it would take DNA to get a positive I.D.,unless like you said...tattoos or scars or something, maybe. But both seem to be 2 normal girls that didn't have any extra features like those.
Did my link work for you?More details are there.Yup,I feel for both families too.I just can't imagine what they all must be going through and WENT through.Oh,and with the burial of what one set of parents THOUGHT was their daughter, then to find out later that their daughter is in recovery?
I just know that I have 2 very beautiful daughters and my oldest daughters driving is OK,but it's like I tell her.."It's not only YOU that you have to watch out for,but OTHERS as well".My recent wreck only verifies that.Even though the police woman said she would have probably done the same on the wet road/raining....but I'm always worried about those Dallas drivers.lol...I'm a nervous wreck driving in Dallas, btw.Houston is a piece of cake.Lived there and can keep up,no prob.BUT DALLAS! My nerves are shot when I have to even go through big D.
But yea, what a shame about those girls and what the family has been through.
Thanks for poppin' in,btw.
It is hard to get that across to kids but you have to be watch out for your driving as well as everyone else.
I have been fortunate. I have been in 5 accidents, two of which I was driving on a freeway at probably 65 to 70 and I have not had any serious injury. But in all those accidents, I have only been the cause of one of the accidents. You can not be to careful.
Hope you don't mind but I popped in and read a few of your earlier blogs. You seem to be doing much better now. I am glad, you seem like a nice person. I also am glad you left the comment you did on Denny's site as I then coulc come and see who this person was.
Well I will see you around from time to time.
OMG, how horribly tragic. Reading that made me speechless. I was just reading it out to Cameron and he was like "OMG, those poor families, imagine what they must be going through". How many blows to the emotional psyhie(sp?) can we take? Have to be bloody strong to get through something like that.
No wonder that poor girl in the hospital was getting so frustrated with them all, she had no idea who they were. And couldn't tell them who SHE was. Poor buggers.
Lisa*It choked me up too.It was so sad that a girl that THOUGHT she was the sisiter of the girl in the hospital...well,she kept a daily blog on her progress or lack of.I can't imagine how they mentally handled finding out later that the girl that was buried was actually THEIRS!
Makes you pretty thankful that it's not YOU and your family....but if my daughter don't stop driving so crazy,I'm gona ...gona ....gona....?? UuGH! What can you do?
Barman*Your totally sweet comments and overall impression of me,has forced me to add you to my faves!lol Sure,I consider myself nice person.Thank u very much for noticing.lol :-}
Serious....Wow,I think you are in a race for who gets in the most car accidents with me.Knock on wood,THAT was my last.I'm gona start driving like those people that aggrivate the h*** out of you driving so slow(usually when your running late for work)and can't get a break to pass them.Yup,that's gona be ME.I already get the bird sometimes for driving the speed limit.I can only imagine what the line of cars behind me are gona be like NOW!ha ha I was following the law,UNDER the speed limit b/c of the dang rain when this pile up happened! So what's up on THAT?(frown)
Headed to see what's up on your end...Hope all is well for you on this beautiful morning. Here in Texas that is.:-]
I read about this....I couldn't believe it. SO tragic.
