POOR KITTY KITTY!

WHAT A MEANIE!
My 2 and a half month old kitten ,Mitzie has been snoring in her sleep and when she's awake,it sounds as though she's not breathing right...so off to the vet we went, and THAT was a horrible experience,to say the least. For both of us,I think. He (the vet guy)just barely said anything as he grabbed her up,had the assistant hold her still, and just RAMMED a thermometer up her behind.I accidently said "OUCH" outloud.I mean gosh..no lube or a gentle warning...just RAM-OLA....UuGH!I wanted to ask him if "I" could check HIS temperature!!She did have a temp of 101.2 though..Then he listens to her w/ a stethascope, and gives her a shot. She was just frazzled and really on the defense when he let her go.But as bad as it all was...it was necessary for her to get treated as she has an upper-respitory infection---almost pneumonia already. He sent amoxicillan home to give her by mouth twice a day,so hopefully she will recover soon. She sounds so pitiful.
I feel so bad for refusing to let my daughters have a kitten or cat when they were kiddo's ...I just didn't care for how some people's house smelled, plus the hair on the furniture etc...but actually it's so easy to actually care for them.I buy the bags that cover the litter box,and tend to them daily or every two days and everyone says you can't tell I even own a cat.Mitzie is now my 3rd cat,and I'm still learning their habits and personalities....but for companionship....I must say...they sure are cheaper and less arguementative than having a man around.LOL....I'm not a man-hater,by no means...but my "picker" must be broke...so I'll wait till my picker heals beore I jump into anything again. For now....I suppose I'll just stick w/ my Mitzie. She's such a sweetie.

Poor kitty!

I'm lucky there....the vet I go to is a real sweetheart...and he's handsome to boot! :)

Hope Mitzie gets better soon...and you are SOOO right about the whole cats-are-easier-to-take-care-of--then-men-are thing! :)

Thanks Magpie and Stacy, kitty is already breathing much much better. When the vet told me how to use that syring to squirt the medicine down her throat,I imagined the days when I tried to get medicine down my daughters' throats.Kalon took it fine, but Rayven NEVER bought the "Oh LOOK! IT'S CHERRY" talk, and would spit it.But kittens take it like a champ! You just encourage her little mouth open a bit and push that syringe fast and it goes down her throat as fast as the vet get her booty-temp!UuGH!
I just find the bisquit thing so cool.I mean,I would be grabbing for the cold canned bisquits in the fridge (to throw in the oven) if someone mentioned a "bisquit".
Kirk,OMG,I don't mind it if you use the pic(blushing).I'm so not shopping in the teen section anymore though....just so you know.LOL
I'll take that as a compliment,though...thanks.

Poor old (young of course) Mitzie!

They're such fun when they're kittens, unless of course they decide that they want to be on you shoulder and you happen to be in the nuddie at the time they start their ascent up your leg...?

By the way, I have something in common with Mitzie - we're both on Amoxicillin at the moment!

Poor kitty! My Maine Coon snores every night, but he apparently has as many allergies and crap as I do, so we don't think much about it. He can't smell to save his life, either.

I know what you mean about cat-smelling homes. I had a friend come over once and she said my place stunk of cat. Well I can't smell and now that My Wife has lived with cats all these years she can't smell it either. So who knew?

Good luck on fixing your picker. My picker is only for when I have a booger, but I understand what you need yours for and it's arguably more important than boogers. We all need love.
