WHAT HAPPENED TO BEING POLITE?

Some may say that I'm wrong, some may agree.....but I grew up being tought that if you didn't say "yes ma'am,no ma'am,yes sir,no sir"....especially to your elders, you got in serious trouble.I know I've never been the perfect parent to my 2 daughters',but they were definately taught to respect their elders.
Yesterday,I was in the cereal isle in the grocery store, and this little boy(7,maybe 8 years old I guess) was in practically an all out arguement w/ what appeared to me was his mother and Grandmother.I could be wrong about the mother, but I did hear him call the older lady maw-maw.Anyways....he was like NO!I don't like that kind"!!and so they continue to try to convince him to eat another kind(probably without a toy in it)...not sure...but the child was really just being a typical child,of course....but yet,the way he talked to his grandmother was just fascinating to me.Even though it's not the 1st time I've seen this kind of disrespect(even with my own children)...it's just crazy how kid's these days get away with murder practically.I've seen it in restaurants, the school, and other various public places. Not JUST the lack of addressing your elders w/ "yes ma'am,no ma'am"...but it just gets my goat(texas term)lol, when I see younger kid's raising their voices at adults.Don't you know I would be walking around headless if I yelled at my mother/father or ANY adult,as far as that goes.I mean, gosh,I know times have changed alot in the way kid's(teenagers more especially) dress these days.Shoot,we barely were allowed to wear long pants, muchless hip huggers w/ those itty bitty short shirts.lol But I still think it's just plain and simple....show your elders the respect they deserve(even if you don't THINK they deserve it).
Of course this certainly doesn't mean my 2 daughters are perfect little angels,by NO means...In fact my youngest kiddo is soooo rebellious sometimes it scares me.But who knows...maybe she'll grow out of it,but if she don't...I'll love her just the same.
Speaking of my little honey's....I got permission from my oldest daughter to post her picture.COOL! I'm proud of my 2 gorgeous kiddo's,but my youngest one says she's rather not have her pic online,so that's okay....dryer stopped...gotta the clothes out before they wrinkle.

I think she won't really outgrow rebellion because if you think back, Tammi, it's probably always been a part of her personality from birth. She will, however, learn to control it - learn when to use it, and when to hold it in check. That's what I'm helping my rebellious-from-birth daughter learn - control. I hope. :-)
